Ceramic Still
Is this normal for 3-4 days after stitching?
on monday 1st of June I cut the sole of my foot open on a piece of ceramic, and I went to the hospital where they dressed it and told me I would be able to walk on it within the week and go on the school trip that weekend. However, I couldn’t walk on it by thursday 4th and couldn’t go on the school trip. THe next monday 8th I went to the local GP and they redressed it and told me to practice standing on it. My mum wasn’t happy with it so she took me down to minor injures unit in the hospital on and they told me not to stand on it, keep it raised and come back on friday for a check up on it. There the consultant got it x-rayed and they discovered several chips of ceramic still in the wound, so they took them out and stitched it up.
4 days later, my foot has swollen up and is red and hot.

Is there a possibility it is infected?
Is it possible/sensible for me to go to school yet?
there is no doubt it is infected if it is hot red and swollen, they should have put you on antibiotics after having to stitch you up. Suggest you need to be on antibiotics and stay home from school until that foot is healed.
