I’m having trouble remembering the name of this horror film?
I’m trying to find out the name of a film that I saw when I was a child..The film is about a woman who suddenly comes into a Father and Son’s life shortly after the child’s mother goes missing..the woman isn’t what she seems..the child knows this..well sometime later in the film the child finds his mother in a cave hanging upside down in a cocoon..this mysterious woman ends up being this bat like looking creature..she is trying to marry the child’s father..I want to say the film was made sometime in the 80′s..if you could give me the name of this film..I would greatly appreciate it.

Todd (Billy Corben) doesn’t like his potential stepmother, Denise (Robin Riker), because she’s a Tropopkin, a shapeshifting monster which eats humans. The neighbors are dying off one by one, yet no one in town believes him except beautiful babysitter Wendy (Ami Dolenz, daughter of Monkee Micky Dolenz), on whom he spies to save her from being monster chow. With his father (Alan Thicke) on the verge of marrying a creature, Todd scrambles to find the answer in his comic books, where he learns the secret weakness of a Tropopkin: violin music! NOTE: There seems to be a bit of confusion about the creature’s name, as some have it “Tropopkin”, “Tripopkin” and even “Tropokin”. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it that I can’t say which is correct. I couldn’t find a movie trailer or any film clips in which the name is said. Here’s the only clip I’ve found:
